Here's what I find fascinating. The "thought" that makes up the worlds of physicists, psychologists, metaphysics, and prayer seem to consist of the same idea, but just using different language to describe it. Let's take a further look down the rabbit hole, shall we?
Metaphysics
The ether, the universe, the "all". I think the notion of "karma" is erected here in metaphysics. In a nutshell, karma is... If you do good things, good things will come around to you. If you do bad things, bad things come back to you.
Psychology and NLP or Neuro Linquistic Programming
This is a more psychology and acadamia based school of thought. This started in the 1970's with Milton and Satir and the power of influence through words, eliciting emotions, and intentions.
Now, setting intentions are what one expects to occur in the future. As part of setting an intention, a goal is identifiedin the timestream set in the future, say Sept 1, 2010, and a celebration act of achieving that goal needs to be experienced as if it were happening right now. By experiencing those emotions you are setting that intention in the future and in motion more importantly. More commercially known, it's the movie called the Secret. Although I'm not a big fan of Hollywood rhetoric, the movie gets the point across very easily of what it IS to set an intention.
And here's where philosphy meets science. Quantum Physics.
Quantum Jivers, as you learned in the last blog, everything around us is made up of waves. Just like the movie the Matrix has lines of encrypted green code that make up the matrix, we here on Earth have nothing but waves that make up every seen and unseen thing around us. Here is where the PhDs (physicists) made suggestions of "willing" the waves around you. This is equivalent to "intention". This is equivalent to even "karma" perhaps. And like a drop of water in a still pond, you can see the wave effects strewn across the distance of the lake, no matter how miniscule and small, it is still a wave that originated by that one drop. And that is precisely what the PhD's think.... one person emits a set of thoughts and it goes into our world in waves and emanates. I suppose the more you do it, the more waves you put out there. This also touches on the quantum theory of entanglement, which will be discussed in a future blog.
One more thought here.
Prayer
In the book, Think and Grow Rich written in 1937, Napoleon Hill is not especially religious, but he makes a particular note that prayer is absolutely necessary to achieve all that you want. Literally he writes, "I don't know why, it just works". Hill's book is largely focusing on the Law of Attraction. Prayer is also very much doing the same thing as setting intentions, or emitting thoughts, or perhaps "karma". One is talking to oneself, internally, externally, over and over again. Sure the word "God" or equivalent deity will get inserted, but one is still praying about a specific subject.
Is there not consistency here in all 4 groups of thinkers?
Do you think it's possible to influence your outcome by willing it so by prayer, thoughts, intentions, or karma?
Do you think if 1 Million people all setting intentions to Peace would have an effect on a future outcome?
Do you think 1 Million people watching TV with images of war and destruction would have an effect on a future outcome?
Or simply stated....
Do you think?
When you think. Think twice, maybe three times, maybe every day or night. But when you think, make it purposeful. You might get exactly what you intended, good or bad.
